History

Investment AB Kinnevik was established in 1936 as an investment company.  The Company’s objective is to increase shareholder value, primarily through net asset value growth.  The business consists of operating companies such as farming company MSLA and cartonboard and paper producer Korsnäs AB. The group also includes the subsidiaries within Modern Finance Group AB, principally active in banking, insurance, securities broking and trading, and asset management. The objective is also to manage a portfolio of long-term investments in a select number of listed companies such as Tele2 AB, Modern Times Group MTG AB, Millicom International Cellular S.A., Metro International S.A., Transcom WorldWide S.A.  Kinnevik takes an active role on the Boards of its subsidiaries and associated companies.

Since 1976, Kinnevik’s shares have generated an average effective yield of 16,0 per cent per year through higher share prices and dividends, as well as the value of the offer to subscribe for shares.
