It functions as an incentive and continuously tests our innovative abilities. For us, environmental work is an improvement process that is always in progress. All Korsnäs’ products are based on renewable raw material from forests.
This work places major demands on environmental consideration in our operations. At the same time, it provides us with the opportunity to adapt our operations to an ecocycle. The paper and cartonboard that we develop, manufacture and market are in turn used by our customers to produce various types of packaging. Customers impose stringent demands on efficient, creative and functional packaging solutions in terms of consumer goods.
Low utilization of fossil energy
In recent years, Korsnäs has gained an increasingly keen insight into and understanding of the importance of the climate issue. A number of scenarios have been demonstrated and the anticipated effects of increased global warming have been described. Burning of fossil energy is one of the largest threats to the climate. Consequently, as a responsible company, we are doing everything we can to keep the level of fossil fuel as low as possible.
An important measuring parameter for us is the proportion of fossil energy in relation to the total energy consumption. For Korsnäs, this figure is 10%. Naturally, our ambition is to gradually reduce this figure.
